Heathrow contract has landed

Select Tower Cranes has recently been awarded the lucrative T5 contract.

The company will provide 31 flat top tower cranes for the Terminal Five, Heathrow build. Mike Studd of Select estimates that the work will take up to four years, and an average of 50 personnel from Select will be on site at any one time.

All of the cranes are Comedils, although Select also has Liebherr tower cranes in its 174-strong fleet. Studd claims that the Select fleet is one of, if not the, newest in Europe, with an average age of 3.5 years per machine, adding that in the UK it is the largest fleet, with a total metre/tonne rating of 52,610.
