Paul Phillips to sell Arcomet
Tower crane specialist Paul Phillips, who retired last year from tower crane company HTC to set up Tower Cranes Consultants, has reached an agreement to work with the company in a sales role.
His job will be to sell Potain self erecting and top slewing tower cranes within the UK and Ireland. Arcomet took over the distribution of Potain tower cranes on January one.
As part of this move it established two sales and rental companies, Midland cranes Ltd for the Self erecting range and Arcomet tower cranes Ltd for the top slewers.
Philips will be working directly for Arcomet Belgium in his new role, predominantly selling to other rental companies, thus avoiding any possible conflict with Midland and ATC which will also rent.

Manitowoc UK has retained five principal customers, including Ladybird and Sir Robert McAlpine, with Arcomet selling to everyone else.
Manitowoc Crane Care also handles all of the product support and after sales functions, leaving Phillips free to simply sell the product, from either Arcomet or Manitowoc inventory.
Phillips is one of the most experienced men in the UK tower industry having started out some 43 years ago. He has been heavily involved in the development of the UK industry and serves as chairman of the CPA tower crane interests group as well as working with Ciria and the British Standards.
