Link Belt HTT for Bauma

Link Belt will launch its new 100 tonne HTT-86110 Telescopic Truck Terrain crane with all-wheel steer and super single tyres at bauma in April.

The crane intended to offer some of the advantages of an All Terrain without the cost and complexity, includes the usual four mode steering found on most ATs - Front only, Rear only, Co-ordinated or Crab. The company says that this provides a turning radius of less than 8.3 metres, and is therefore comparable to similar four axle All Terrain cranes.

The new crane boasts a six section 50 metre pinned main boom, plus a 17.6 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with four offset positions of zero, 15, 30 and 45 degrees, and an easier method of erecting and stowing, to reduce the need to use a ladder. The extension also includes an integrated three metre short extension that can take up to four parts of line handle up to 21.7 tonnes. Two additional 4.9 metre lattice inserts take the maximum tip height to 79.7 metres.

Power comes from a Tier 3/Euro Stage IIIA Cummins for Europe, with other Cummins power units available in other regions. Both engines use a 12 speed ZF AS-tronic automated transmission with two reverse rations.

The superstructure cab tilts up to 20 degrees, while a pull-out ‘Cabwalk’ provides easy entry into the cab. The five-way adjustable seat incorporates the electronic controllers, available in either dual or single axis configuration. A foot pedal is fitted for boom telescope, while the slew controller allows the operator to free slew and utilise a foot pedal for braking. The Link-Belt Pulse system with telematics, and cameras is standard, as are heating, air-conditioning, and Bluetooth radio.

The chassis cab a rear view and right turn camera system. The unit can run at 11 tonne axle loadings, when fully equipped with 1.8 tonnes of its standard 7.2 tonne counterweight, it is still under 12 tonne axle loads. A further optional counterweight can take the total to 22 tonnes. Top road speed is 60mph/96kph.
