Sparrows & Miguel

Oil & gas lifting services provider Sparrows Group has extended its operations to Trinidad and Tobago through a cooperation agreement with Miguel Mechanical Services.

Miguel will supply local expertise, labour, procurement and facilities while the Sparrows Group will deliver engineering and technical support as well as training and competency assessment to bring lifting services to local projects.

The agreement re-establishes Sparrows’ connection with Miguel founder Anthony Miguel. In the 1980s, Sparrows was involved in a project to improve offshore crane performance in Trinidad and Tobago. Because of his pivotal role within the operator’s lifting activities, Miguel worked with Sparrows engineers to ensure the cranes reached and maintained optimum levels of operation.

In 1988, following the end of the project he founded his own company which has grown to become the leading crane maintenance service company in Trinidad and Tobago.
