Liebherr Rough Terrain cranes
Bauma is always good for announcements, new ideas and products, but also rumours.
One that has been doing the rounds since January concerns whether Liebherr will re-enter the Rough Terrain crane market, following a less than successful attempt to penetrate the market in the 1980s and early 1990s with its LTL models. We can now confirm that we will see a new line of Liebherr RTs within 12 months.
When asked about the plans, a Liebherr spokesman said that he could not deny that the company will launch a new RT range. And also agreed that a North American launch would be ideal, given the size of the market and that a big American construction equipment show would be a perfect launch pad. Expect to see 90 and 100 tonne base models, with system and boom variations to create further models.

Vertikal Comment
Given the current state of the Rough Terrain market and the large number of competitors, offering a wide range of products it is hard to imagine what a newcomer might be able add. Conexpo will of course be best launch pad.
Liebherr has a long term focus of course and may well be happy to take their time.

I am not surprised if they actually did. There products are excellent, and their costumer surface as well.
