New Liebherr truck mounted cranes.

Liebherr has announced further details of its new LTF truck mounted models. The two models will be the 35 tonne, TF 1035-3.1 and 45 tonne LTF 1045-4.1.

The LTF 1035-3.1 is mounted to a three axle commercial truck chassis and offers a 30 metre telescopic boom. The LTF 1045-4.1 will have a 35 metre boom and is designed for a four axle carrier.

Liebherr says that the two new cranes offer crane owners an economical alternative to All Terrain cranes in the 30 to 50 tonne class. The units are designed as pure taxi cranes and can be driven on public roads fully equipped ready for immediate use. Axle loads are significantly lower than those of equivalent sized All-Terrains and can travel in many countries without the need for special permits.

Economies come from lower fuel consumption than a comparable AT crane. And also benefit from a separate superstructure engine, a Liebherr 145 kW/197 hp, four cylinder diesel engine.

The company also says that the standard truck chassis has the advantage of lower prices for tyres and wearing parts, thanks to mass-production. The carrier cab can be specified with a sleeper cab.

Lifting capacities have been increased, compared to the old LTF 1030 and 1040 models by around 35 percent.
The booms can be extended with the addition of a 15 metre bi-fold swingaway jib on the LTF 1035-3.1. This jib is an identical design to that of the LTM1030-2.1 and is interchangeable.

The same applies to the LTF 1045-4.1, which uses the 9.5-metre folding jib from the LTM1040.2.1 which can be luffed by up to 60 degrees. Radio remote control is also available as an option.

The outrigger base on both new cranes is 6.2 metres, with a counterweight tail swing of three metres. The fold out outriggers, which are attached directly to the cranes sub frame, can be set up in a partially extended, 4.65 metre configuration.
