Isreal Celli

The promotion rewards Celli for the strong improvement in JLG's international sales, which have kept pace and even exceeded its domestic growth levels, at a time when the USA aerial lift market has grown at a fast pace.

"The promotion of Israel to this senior officer position continues to support JLG's global status and will continue to strengthen the focus and coordination of resources required in meeting our international goals," said Bill Lasky, chairman, president and chief executive officer.

"In his position as vice president, international sales and marketing, Israel and his team have been responsible for doubling JLG's international revenue as well as creating a sales and service team designed to respond to the voice of the customer. He commands a critically important knowledge of his field and we are fortunate to have such a talent as a key member of our management team."

JLG continues to grow at a rapid pace. Its recently published revenues for the nine months to the end of April 2006 are up significantly on the same period last year to $1.6 billion, with the international market up 38 percent.

Celli will continue to be responsible for all international sales, sales support, marketing and service operations for Europe, Asia/Pacific, Latin America and developing markets.

Celli joined JLG in 2000 as general manager of Latin America and was subsequently named Vice President of International Sales in 2001. Prior to joining JLG, Celli was marketing director/Latin America for CNH Global.

Vertikal Comment

One assumes that this promotion carries a decent salary increase as Celli has been a senior VP in all but name since he became an officer of the company when he took over the International sales and marketing role at the end of 2001. Since then he has always reported directly to Bill Lasky but his title was less senior than that of Craig Paylor, senior vice president of sales and marketing, principally responsible for North America.

Paylor has been on a senior management course at one of the major business schools, Harvard? apparently preparing him for promotion as part of a wider management succession plan. Celli’s new title might well be part of this plan?
