The new Terex Gottwald crane will arrive in spring 2017

CS president Makoto Aso said: “Otake is a major port for the steel and chemical industry located in the region. Thanks to steadily increasing production, the handling volumes have risen constantly over the past few years. The favourable geographical location has also contributed to this. Otake plays an important role in Japanese domestic trade and is also a hub between Asia and the Pacific area. This potential will be even better utilised with the new crane.”

Terex Port Solutions sales director Andreas Moeller added: “The machine for Otake will be the first of the Generation 5 crane in Japan and follows the nine Generation 4 HMK 170 E delivered over the past 13 years. The G HMK 2204 will be our 10th mobile harbour crane in Japan.”
