The Platform Company, one of the UK’s largest access rental companies, has opened a ninth branch, in Leicester. The new purpose-built building occupies a one-acre site in Cosby and incorporates 750 square metres (8,000 sq ft) of workshop and storage facilities.

The new branch is expected to be running in excess of 250 machines by the end of the year, and will also become an IPAF approved training centre.

The Platform Company says that it opened the branch in order to provide a local service for a growing number of customers in the East Midlands and that the machines based at Cosby will be include the new scissors and booms, from the recent £30 million order it placed with Genie.

The Leicester branch manager Wayne Moult said: “The Platform Company provides a comprehensive service across the UK It made sense to open a dedicated branch to give customers in the area with a more competitive and all round faster service.”
