Sennebogen 305MH delivered to Cleanaway

Cleanaway UK - one of the largest collectors of municipal, industrial, commercial and trade waste in England and Wales - operates a specialist fleet of approximately 1,500 vehicles.

More than three million tonnes of domestic, commercial and industrial dry waste is received by Cleanaway’s waste disposal operations each year.

Its site at Northumberland Wharf currently processes approximately 100,000 tonnes of municipal waste and generally operates as a municipal waste transfer station. There is also a small recycling centre and a small percentage of commercial waste is also handled.

Incoming municipal waste is collected throughout Tower Hamlets and is delivered to site where it is compacted and loaded into 20 ft shipping containers. These containers are then loaded onto barges and shipped for treatment and disposal.

The Senneboben 305MH is employed on general duties and works within the tight footprint of the wharf station, handling waste which it transfers from the compactors to the shipping containers.

Weighing in at 11 tonnes the unit is to a very high specification. Operating on foam filled tyres the 305MH is fitted with a standard two section telescopic boom, hydraulically extendable from 4.1 to 6.6 metres.

Featuring a hydraulic quick change device operated from the drivers cabin, a three cu metre rehandling bucket - complete with hydraulic clamping rail - enables maximum filling of the bucket resulting in a high volume per bucket load.

The 305MH also features a hydraulically elevated cabin and three position steering which improves the Cleanaway operator's vision when loading high sided vehicles or containers.

Driver comfort and safety are well catered for with full air conditioning, flat screen reversing camera, convex mirrors and white noise reversing alarm. An Ardent fully automatic Ansul A101 dry chemical fire suppression system completes the package.

Reg Corbridge - Transfer Station Manager, commented: “After looking closely at all the machines we chose the 305MH for its extremely robust build and most importantly the infinitely hydraulically adjustable elevated cab. This feature has provided us with superb driver vision when moving about the site area and excellent vision when loading high sided containers. Hassells also made some minor modifications which we asked for and importantly made the machine quieter to avoid any noise issues we may have had with surrounding flats”
