Paus appoints Unic for UK

German crane and access company Paus, has appointed GGR Glass-Unic as the UK distributor for its Skyworker, self erecting aluminium trailer crane. GGR will launch the new crane at a series of open days, organised to celebrate its 10th birthday on September 14th and 15th.

The 1.2 tonne capacity Paus Skyworker has been developed for lifting applications in areas where space or load bearing capacity is severely limited. Its 2.1 metre wide chassis is self-powered for easy manoeuvrability when separated from the towing vehicle. The total fully equipped weight of the crane is under 3,500 kgs.

The Gecko offers 250kg of battery-powered hydraulic lifting capacity, will pass through a standard doorway and its fully adjustable lifting head can be fitted with either manual or electrically-powered vacuum pads.

Finally the company is developing an all new cladding and roof panel handling device, the prototypes are currently on test and may well be available to see at the open days.

GGR-UNIC managing director Gill Riley said: “The Skyworker and Gecko are two innovative products that really complement our existing range. Paus is renowned for providing specialist solutions to construction problems and the Skyworker gives you the flexibility of the smaller self-erecting tower cranes with simpler faster set up times. It will come into its own on crowded sites and for shorter term jobs”.

“The Gecko provides a simple, automated alternative to manual handling for glass fitting. We see it being in high demand for shop fitting and glass replacement work. We welcome everyone in the industry to come and see all our products at our open day party and help celebrate GGR’s 10th birthday.”

The GGR-UNIC open day parties will be held on September 14th and 15th at its recently expanded Southern depot near Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire.
