He then moved to Sheriff Plant Hire, where he spent six and a half years as depot manager, responsible for Powered Access and as Northwest regional organiser. Sheriff was later acquired by A-Plant.
Pearson left to take up a job as regional director, and then later, operational director, of Independent Access. He left Independent Access (Now Wizard Work Space) in 2004, around the time it went into administration in 2004. Since then he has been general manager at Stockport Racking.
Steve Shaughnessy, managing director of A-Plant Specialist Products, said: “I am very pleased that Jim Pearson has joined A-Plant Powered Access. We will benefit greatly from the wide experience and in-depth knowledge Jim brings to his new position after 24 years in the access industry.”
Pearson said: “There is an increased focus on the powered access business at A-Plant as indicated by the large investment in new equipment this year. I have worked closely with many of the manufacturers supplying A-Plant and this will be of great help in one of my key roles, managing the A-Plant fleet.
