A day at the races

In case you missed it, last week as the Galway races summer festival and Monday was GPT day. The Galway based rental company, one of the largest access and telehandler rental companies in Ireland, sponsored all of the races for the first day.

Third up on the race card was the GPT Access Equipment race for two year old colts or geldings, with a €20,000 first prize.

The race, which is run over seven furlongs, is also sponsored by the European Breeders Fund, with the trophy provided by Galway Irish Crystal Ltd.

The winner was the favourite, Fleeting Shadow at 11/8
