£1m telehandler order for JCB
JCB has secured a £1 million order from the RAF for its Loadall telescopic handlers.
Twenty seven telehandlers are to be delivered, mainly for transporting ammunition and weapon loads in explosive storage areas. They are the 525-50 models made at the JCB factory in Cheadle, Staffordshire. Two of the machines have been specially ‘winterised’ – adapted to work in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius.
The machines will replace ageing JCB 410 machines, which were supplied back in 1984. These will be phased out within two years, according to the MOD.
