New facility for Rosenbauer Spain

Fire and recovery vehicle manufacturer Rosenbauer has moved to new purpose built service facilities in Madrid for its Spanish subsidiary Rosenbauer Española.

The new facilities are located in Leganés on the south west side of the city and comprise 1,000 square metres of office space including a training centre and showroom, plus a 1,100 square metre workshop with 10 service bays, and 1,700 square metres of outside space for demonstrations and testing. The new building replaces two older smaller locations and represent an investment of €2.8 million. In addition to the Spanish market the location will also support customers in West and North Africa.

Rosenbauer's new product support facility in Madrid


Production continues to be based in Linares, 300km south of Madrid, where. Fire trucks have been built in Linares since 1964, and became part of Rosenbauer in 1983, the company built a new facility on the site, along with a service and training buildings in 2011. It builds around 200 units a year – mostly fire and rescue trucks, but also heavy duty recovery vehicles. While most of the production remains in Spain, the plant also exports to Africa and the Middle East.

The official opening of the new facility was attended by the mayor of Leganés - Santiago Llorente, local development councillor Rubén Bejarano, the fire chief of Leganés Miguel Albadalejo and his deputy José Luis Madrid, the director of emergency services for Madrid Carlos Novillo as well as the Austrian ambassador Christian Ebner.

Manuel Garzon of Rosenbauer cuts the chain to open the new facility with a 'Jaws of Life' machine


Manuel Garzon, chief executive of Rosenbauer Española said: "Rosenbauer Española has grown strongly since its foundation in 1983. The Customer Service segment alone saw revenues almost triple between 2012 and 2017. With our new headquarters we are taking this pleasing development into account and are not only expanding our capacities, but also improving efficiency".
