Wembley set to open

Wembley stadium is set to be ready to welcome football fans by the end of the season after the FA and Multiplex resolve differences. The project willl be nearly two years late with total costs approaching £1bn.

A deal has been done between the FA which owns the stadium and the construction company Multiplex. The two have had a protracted battle over the soaring costs of the project however the financial differences look to have been finally resolved.

The new stadium has been beset with problems from the start, including the death of a building worker who was hit by falling scaffolding in 2004.
