Crane Services orders 1,000 tonne Liebherr

UK crane rental company, Crane Services has placed an order for a 1,000 tonne LTM 11000-9.1 All Terrain crane with 100 metre Boom.

The new crane will join the company’s three 500 tonne Liebherr telescopics, at the heavy end of the fleet.

The new order is part of an £8million order placed with Liebherr which also includes a 500 tonne LTM 1500-8.1, a 250 tonne LTM 1250-6.1, a 200 tonne LTM 1200-5.1 with extra counterweight, a 160 tonne LTM 1160-5.1, a 95 tonne LTM 1095-5.1, two 55 tonne LTM 1055-3.1 and a 40 tonne LTM 1040-2.1.

A Crane Services Liebherr LTM 1225-5.1 and LTM 1200-5.1 working on the erection of an Automatic Stacker Crane at Corus Scunthorpe

David Slack managing director of Crane Services said that in his opinion “Liebherr is the ‘Rolls Royce’ of cranes giving high utilisation, reliability and good residual values”. He also plans to order a new 300 tonner from Liebherr as soon as its new model becomes available.
