SAIE a little more

SAIE is so much bigger this year that it is proving a challenge for our editorial team to cover. After the show we will attempt to do it justice, in the meantime a few points and pictures.

Merlo has launched a number of new products, including a new 16 metre Roto with more capacity from a chassis 150mm shorter and 50mm narrower. It says that it believes that enhancing its Roto range in this manner is a more attractive proposition for its customers that looking to build a machine higher than its current top of the line 25 metre.

Socage is displaying a number of new truck and tracked boom models Valerio Rampini, who recently moved to Socage from GSR, is now export manager and keen to increase the company’s share of the European market.

The new owners of Basket, now renamed Platform Basket, while not exhibiting new models, were explaining the plans they have to expand and improve the business concentrating on spider lifts and the current articulating self propelled boom range.

Mister Gru, the Tadano-Faun distributor has started to build the compact Bi –Energy city crane, although this has now been uprated to 25 tonne capacity and will feature a new high speed drive train. The first ten units go into production in the new year.
