New Genie VP of sales and marketing
Genie has appointed Simon Meester as vice president of global sales and marketing.
In his new role he will be responsibility for managing the sales, commercial operations and marketing teams, with the brief to strengthen Genie’s reputation in the industry and develop deeper customer relationships while improving commercial operations. Jacco de Kluyver, vice president, sales & marketing for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, now reports to Meester as head of global sales & marketing.

Simon Meester
Meester joins Genie from Eaton, where he has been general manager of the industrial control division since 2016. Before that he was director of the same division.
Educated in the UK and the Netherlands, he began his material handling career in 1997 as general manager of sales and marketing at Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift Europe. Six and a half years later he moved to Caterpillar as general manager sales and marketing Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, based in the Netherlands.
In 2006 he moved to Naperville, Illinois as global product marketing manager excavators. Two years later he transferred to Caterpillar Europe headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland as general manager core products, moving to Dubai in 2009 as regional manager for Africa and the Middle East.
He left Cat in early 2011 to take up the role of president at Sandvik Mining and Construction in Pune, India, moving onto Eaton in late 2012 as director of mining and metals, and then director of the industrial control division.
