100t Demag for CK Crane
US rental company CK Crane Service has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Demag AC 100-4L All Terrain crane.
The four axle AC 100-4L has a 59.4 metre main boom, plus an extra long 27 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of 81.7 metres. The crane went straight to work lifting a large propane tank. It will also be used on a contract to erect mobile phone towers.
Owner Chris Keence said: “I was looking for a compact and reliable crane with the best load chart for our cell phone tower work. The jib gives us a stepless hydraulically adjustable offset from zero to 40 degrees, so a load can be lifted and then tilted in the air to get into tight areas. It also has remote control operation, which allows us to eliminate one person for jib setup. It requires less room and less setup plus it offers a long boom with a strong load chart. It is the right machine for our needs.”

Demag/Terex regional business manager Bryce Meier added: “The AC 100-4L All Terrain crane has four axles and is the most compact crane in the class. It has a width of only 2.55 metres for most tyre configurations and carrier length of less than 11 metres, which helps CK Crane to get into tight spots often encountered on cell phone tower installation projects.”
Based in Union, Missouri, family owned CK Crane Service runs a fleet that also includes cranes from Grove, Altec, Manitex, National Crane and Link-Belt.
