When training is really required

Sent in by a reader in the UK, a man using a scissor lift to reach something around four metres high, clearly with no idea how the machine he is using works.

Rather simply raising the platform on the scissor lift, our man is standing on the guardrails and can just about reach with a stretch. The chances of falling – either in mid task or when climbing up onto or down from the guardrails is high, especially as he does not appear to be any ‘spring chicken’.

Stand on the guardrails rather than elevate the platform

We have no idea where this occurred or when, but it is not as uncommon as you might think, several of us have witnessed examples where a man working at height has climbed onto the mid guardrail rather than elevate the platform a little.

A closer look

Definitely one for our Death Wish series.
Have a safe weekend.
