Lifting Solutions is 30

Lifting Solutions, the Thurnscoe based lifting gear and access company is celebrating 30 years in business. Since 1976 the company has grown from a simple chain and rope supplier into a full-service engineering operation with its own access division, machine shop and fabrication capability, employing more than 30 staff.

The company, originally Chain and Rope Services, was set up as a rapid response lifting equipment supplier to the coal and steel industries of South Yorkshire. The company now supplies customers worldwide and has won prestigious contracts with the Royal Family, Kew Gardens, and three separate Olympic Games.

In recent months, the firm has moved to new premises, signed a major distribution deal with French hoist manufacturer Verlinde, and opened a new machine shop in response to demand from customers for a machining capability.

Lifting Solutions can now design, manufacture and machine its own pins, bushes, pulleys, gear blanks and pinion shafts, allowing it to make components that cannot be sourced elsewhere.

Jonathan Moorhouse, managing director of Lifting Solutions, said: "We are justifiably proud that we have hit the 30 years old figure, and have consistently looked to grow and develop the business in new ways to ensure our long-term prosperity. We would like to thank all our staff, customers and suppliers for helping us reach 30, and I hope we are still here in another 30 years - continuing to provide innovative lifting solutions and excellent customer service."
