Manitex has announced that the PM and Oil & Steel businesses will in future operate as separate divisions of Manitex International. As a result of the change which takes effect immediately, the company has announced two senior management appointments.
Giovanni Tacconi takes over as general manager of the PM articulated loader crane business while Fabrizio Girotti becomes general manager of the Oil & Steel aerial work platforms operation. Both report directly to Manitex chief executive Steve Filipov. The two men have full responsibility for the companies/divisions that they manage, including manufacturing, engineering, sales, service and spare parts along with all commercial operations of their respective businesses.
Tacconi has been sales director for the PM group since 2007, having joined the business in 2003 to promote Oil & Steel sales in North America. He began his career in 1995 with component and filter supplier WAM, moving to ITM-Italtractor a couple of years later as sales director for its North American business.
Fabrizio Girotti trained as a mechanical technician and joined the PM group 12 years ago from arms manufacturer Beretta, where he was plant manager. Most recently he has served as industrial director for Oil & Steel, and prior to that he was director of spare parts and service. He began his career in 1999 with Titan Italia a manufacturer of brakes and wheels for agricultural and earthmoving machinery, moving to Beretta in 2001.
Filipov said: “I would like to congratulate these two executives on their appointments. I am confident that in their new roles both of these seasoned veterans will further enhance the performance and results of their businesses.”
