First GMK5150L in Scotland

Stoddart Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first 150 tonne Grove GMK5150L All Terrain in Scotland.

The five axle GMK5150L features a 60 metre main boom and can travel with 10.2 tonnes of counterweight within 12 tonne axle loadings, or 24 tonnes within the UK’s STGO regulations which allows up to 16 tonnes an axle. The boom can be extended with the 11.2 to 17.2 metre bi-fold swingaway, while additional features include a boom camera system and a manual emergency recovery system which is often required in refineries to allow the boom to be lowered in case of engine failure.
