Platform electrocution
A man using a truck mounted aerial work platform was electrocuted yesterday in Salt Lake City, Utah, after coming into contact with live overhead power lines.
According to the Salt Lake City fire department the first crew to arrive on the scene had to wait for Rocky Mountain Power to shut down power to the lines, which he remained in contact with, before they could rescue the man. It is believed that he had already succumbed to his injuries by then.
A spokesman for the fire department said that the deceased did not work for the power company, but believe he was carrying out work as a private citizen - possibly on behalf of the condominiums served by the lines - rather than working for a company.
