Man electrocuted in NY

A construction worker died on Wednesday when the boom of the aerial work platform he was working from caught up on live overhead power lines.

The man, Alejandro Manuel Caisaguano Pellisa, 26, was working on the façade of a new residential unit in New Rochelle, just north of the Bronx, New York, when he was subjected to a strong electric shock, after which he fell from the platform and died from his injuries around an hour later.

The overhead power lines had been sheaved to provide some protection, but the boom of the platform became entangled in them, allowing the current to divert through the machine to earth. OSHA is investigating the incident.
