Demag AC 100-4L for CT Kranservice

German crane company CT Kranservice has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Demag AC 100-4L.

The four axle AC 100-4L has a 59.4 metre main boom, topped by a 10 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees offset, plus an eight metre insert which can be installed between boom nose and the extension to create an additional 27 metres, for a maximum tip height of 81.7 metres. The Demag IC-1 Plus control system is standard, complete with variable outrigger set up, allowing them to be deployed in an asymmetrical configuration to maximum lifting capacity in confined spaces.

Göppingen based CT Kranservice was looking for a compact telescopic crane with long main boom in order to set up its tower cranes in urban areas.

The hand over

Crane operator Renato Krznaric said: “We already had a Demag AC 220-5 in our fleet, and it has worked out so well that this played an important role in our decision to get the AC 100-4L. In addition, the four axle unit has the perfect axle load distribution, meaning that we can usually drive it without the need for a special permits.” “But it is also a Demag – and I simply love the brand, he admits.”

Krznaric collected the crane from the factory in Zweibrücken on Tuesday along with fellow crane operator and escort vehicle driver Jakob Stiben.
