Mateco breaks ground on new HQ

German international rental group Mateco has started construction of an all new headquarters building on a five acre site in Leonberg, on the west side of Stuttgart.

The location is close to the crossroads of the East/West A8 - Karlsruhe to Munich autobahn and the North/South A81. It will feature a four storey office building which will be home to all employees involved with centralised services and administration. Employees working at the local Mateco branch will also move to the new site, with a new 1,700 square metre workshop/warehouse also being built.

Founded in 1973, Mateco is Germany's largest powered access rental company with 12,000 unit fleet operating from 60 locations across Germany, with 1,000 employees, 150 of whom are based in Stuttgart. The company has been based at the current Stuttgart headquarters since the early days of 1973, and while numerous extensions have taken place over the years to cater for its growth, it had reached its limits.
