Upgraded 60t National Crane

Manitowoc has announced an upgraded version of the 53 tonne National Crane NBT60L truck crane - the NBT60XL - which features a larger counterweight and improved capacities.

The NBT60XL features a hydraulically removeable counterweight that can be configured from zero to 7,250kg compared with a maximum of 4,080kg on the L model. The new machine features the same five section, 46 metre boom plus 11 metre swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of 59.7 metres and the same cab with 20 degrees of tilt. It also includes the National Truck Crane (NTC) option, with four load charts - with outrigger extensions of 100 percent, 75 percent, 50 percent and fully retracted. Other options include a two camera system for increased visibility, a fully integrated wireless wind speed indicator and a 7.9 to 13.7 metre telescopic jib that offsets by up to 30 degrees and takes the maximum tip height to 62 metres.

Boom truck product manager Bob Ritter said: “The NBT60XL is set to take on all competitors in the 60 ton market. Whether it be a boom truck or truck crane, this machine features the best combination of boom length and load chart capacity with a sturdy operator's feel and plenty of comfortable manoeuvrability to get to and from any jobsite. Additionally, its commercial truck carrier adds a level of comfort, customisation and travel speed not yet available to the truck crane market. In order to get even more capacity and maintain overall agility, these ‘truck crane’-style counterweights offer many combinations allowing operators to take what is needed for the job and still meet any roading regulations.”
