Fatal crane incident in Va

A crane operator died in an incident last Wednesday in the small town of Franklin in Virginia – due west of Norfolk – we have little to no details of what happened, but we do know that the incident occurred at the Franklin paper mill, which is owned by International Paper.

According to local emergency response teams, the incident involved a large crane and that the operator had to be cut free of the wreckage. Virginia OSHA is investigating the incident along with the local police.

A company spokesman said that the incident occurred around 21:00 on Wednesday evening and that “the company is incredibly saddened by this news.”
