First CE Aspen for Facelift

UK rental company Facelift has ordered the first Aspen A-62 underbridge inspection platform in Europe. The order follows the announcement from sister company Versalift that it would offer purpose-built CE versions outside of the US earlier this year - see: Versalift goes underbridge and Time acquires Aspen.

Scheduled for delivery in October, the A-62 is mounted on four axle Volvo FM 420 8X4 chassis, and features a triple boom configuration that consists of two fixed arms with a slew ring between them, a two section telescopic boom and a two section telescopic jib.

It offers up to 18.8 metres of horizontal under bridge reach and up to 20.6 metres of vertical below deck reach. Able to clear bridge barriers with heights of up to 3.4 metres, the unit can either be supplied with a regular work platform with a capacity of 272kg or a three-stage gantry walkway with a capacity of 680kg. Given the unit does not require outriggers, it is able to set up within a single lane of the road and can travel backwards and forwards along the bridge with zero tailswing.

Acquired by AFI group in 2019, Facelift offers a range of underbridge inspection platforms alongside truck and van mounts plus boom, scissor, trailer and spider lifts.
