Double first for East Cork

Ireland’s East Cork Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first 120 tonne Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 and 700 tonne LTM 1650-8.1 All Terrain cranes to arrive in the country.

The four axle LTM 1120 features a 66 metre main boom plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway, which offsets by up to 40 degrees. A seven metre insert extends the maximum tip height to more than 94 metres and offers a maximum radius of 64 metres. The crane has been supplied with two winches and a boom tip camera. It also features a Stage V engine and Liebherr’s VarioBase and VarioBallast systems.

East Cork has taken the first Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 in Ireland


The eight axle LTM 1650-8.1 has been supplied with the 80 metre boom and a 21 to 91 metre luffing jib plus Y-guiying system to offer hook heights of up to 151 metres and radii up to 112 metres. Similar to the LTM 1120, it features a Stage V engine plus Liebherr’s VarioBase and VarioBallast systems, however it also features the manufacturer’s ECOdrive and ECOmode systems to help reduce fuel consumption.

The company has also taken the first LTM 1650-8.1 in the country


Managing director Aidan Kelleher, said: “We are delighted with our new LTM 1650, it is an upgraded replacement for our LTM 1500-8.1 which has given years of reliable service. The crane is a great fit for our fleet with its increased load capabilities and operator friendly controls and of course all of this comes with Liebherr’s good quality aftersales service.”

Established in 1987, family run East Cork Crane Hire was founded by Tom and Catherine Kelleher and is now run by Aidan Kelleher. The company runs a crane fleet ranging from a 13 to 800 tonnes.
