First Skyjack SJ9664RTs

UK rental group AFI has taken delivery of its first six 64ft Skyjack SJ9664RT Rough Terrain scissor lifts.

The units are part of a £12 million, 300 machine investment announced in November which included around 200 Skyjack lifts with a value of £5 million. The order also includes a number of 86ft Skyjack SJ86T telescopic boom lifts. See: £12 million investment by AFI. Over half of the Skyjacks are slab electric scissor lifts, including the 19ft SJ3219 and 26ft SJ3226.

The first batch of Skyjack SJ9664RT for AFI


The 64ft Skyjack SJ9664RT was launched almost a year ago and has a maximum working height of 21.5 metres with a capacity of 513kg on the 1.9 by 4.31 metre platform. Manually extended dual roll-out deck extensions take the overall platform length to 7.1 metres, while the gap between the guardrails and the overall width of the machine is just 270mm. Other Skyjack units in the order include the 46ft SJ46AJ, 63ft SJ63AJ and 85ft SJ85AJ articulated boom lifts, plus the 26ft and SJ6826RT and 32ft SJ6832RT compact diesel scissors.

Chief operating officer Nick Higgins said: “This latest Skyjack investment will enable us to expand the capability of the entire hire fleet and offer a diverse and efficient range of scissor lifts and articulated boom lifts to meet demand and increase service levels and flexibility to our customers across the entire UK.”
