Liebherr trio for Hermann & Wittrock

German crane and access rental company Herrmann & Wittrock has taken delivery of three new Liebherr All Terrain cranes. A 40 tonne LTM 1040-2.1, a 55 tonne LTM 1055-3.2 and a 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.3.

The additions are part of the company’s fleet modernisation programme, and follows the delivery of 10 new Liebherr cranes in 2021, while more units are on order for later this year.

The two axle 40 tonne LTM 1040-2.1 features a four section 35 metre main boom and can be equipped with a 9.5 metre swingaway extension. The three axle LTM 1055-3.2 boasts a five section 40 metre main boom and a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, which can be offset by 0, 20, and 40 degrees, providing a maximum onboard under-hook-height of 56 metres. Finally, the five axle LTM 1150-5.3 features a seven section 66 metre boom plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bifold swingaway extension which can offset by up to 40 degrees and be extended with a seven metre insert to provide a tip height of almost 95 metres and a maximum radius of 72 metres, while power for both carrier and superstructure comes from a single Stage V diesel.

The three new cranes

Joint managing director Oliver Herrmann said: “None of our cranes is more than five years old. We will be receiving more cranes during 2022, which we have ordered to keep our fleet up to date and to expand our crane fleet at our various outlets. We continue to place our trust in the excellent quality and reliability of Liebherr cranes. The 150 tonne model features the latest crane technology on the market. It is the successor to the LTM 1130-5.1, which is a crane we are very satisfied with.”

Joint managing director Johannes von Sobbe added: “Over the past few years we have bought all our new cranes from Liebherr. The LTM 1150-5.3 which has just been delivered will be joined by another before the end of the year.

The new cranes were delivered to the company’s Hof headquarters in Eastern Germany, where various accessories were installed, before travelling to the company’s newly opened branch in Bayreuth, Bavaria.

Founded in 2005 as an aerial lift rental business, Herrmann & Wittrock, part of the Wittrock group, is expanding its crane business which dates back to 2007, and already runs a fleet of more than 50 mobile cranes, with 10 outlets in Bavaria, Saxony and Brandenburg.
