Versalift UK to take over Ruthmann distribution
Versalift UK has announced that it will take over the exclusive distribution of Ruthmann truck mounted platforms in the UK and Ireland from the start of next month.
The move follows the company’s
acquisition of Ruthmann last year. Versalift UK already distributes Ruthmann’s smaller Econoline truck mounted lift which are made in Italy but will now take over the German built ‘Steiger’ models from current dealer Ad Astra which trades as Access Sales International under Darren Sutton. ASI also runs a used equipment service operation, but currently does not represent any other manufacturers.
Versalift UK will base its Ruthmann operations at its existing headquarters in Burton Latimer near Kettering, Northampton. It says that it is investing in further resources including sales, marketing, after sales and an expanded parts operation. It has also said that it will honour all existing warranties in full, both for machines already delivered and those to be delivered by ASI during the transition.
Versalift has appointed Chris Wrenn who has been Versalift UK sales manager South for the past six years, to take over and develop the Ruthmann operation in the UK as head of Ruthmann sales. He joined the company in 2015 having started out with Metropolitan Fencing in 1995, before moving into the access industry in 2008 when he joined Loxam as a branch manager, switching to Platform Hire in 2011.

At the same time the company has appointed Tara-Chelise Fosbrook, as European marketing manager for Versalift International. She joined the company as internal sales and marketing co-ordinator two years ago, her new role will also include the marketing of Ruthmann products in the UK. She began her career in 2009 as an event manager with the chartered Institute of Logistics, moving to Bushboard Washrooms in 2014 and entering the access industry the following year when she joined King Trailers, the former GSR and Palfinger distributor, leaving three years later as the company began winding down its Skyking business. She moved to a similar role at Gold Vision CRM in late 2018, taking the opportunity to get back into the access industry 18 months later when she joined Versalift.
