More new cranes for Lee

UK-based Lee Lifting Services has taken delivery of two more Liebherr cranes, a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1 and a 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2.

The two new arrivals follow the delivery of a 150 tonne five axle LTM 1150-5.3 in February as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The three axle LTM 1060 features a six section, 48 metre main boom topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of 67.5 metres. It can also travel in the UK with its full counterweight - 12.8 tonnes - and extension on board. The new crane features ECOmode and ECOdrive systems for improved fuel consumption and was ordered with VarioBase outrigger set-up and full remote control of all superstructure functions.

The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger set up, VarioBallast and full remote control system. It is also able to travel with up to 22.5 tonnes of counterweight and its swingaway extension within 16 tonne the axle loads permitted in the UK.

The LTM 1060 replaces a four axle crane that has been in service since 2006, and which has been sold to a buyer in Egypt. The LTM 1090 is new category for the company.

Director Jody Whitmore said: “It’s the overall quality and servicing of the machines that brings us back to Liebherr each time we are in the market for something new. It’s also a real advantage when you have multiple machines from the same manufacturer as it means that our operators can move across machines with the same operating system. It’s for these reasons that we’ve just placed an order for a LTM 1230, due for delivery in early 2023 - we can’t wait!”
