New HR lead for Maxim

US-based crane and access rental company Maxim Crane Works has appointed Sonja Narcisse as chief human resource officer.

In her new role Narcisse will be responsible for leading the company’s centralised HR function for the company’s branch network including talent management, learning and development, and compensation and benefits.

She joins the company after 20 months as senior vice president of human resources at a private equity firm in the pet care industry. She has spent her entire career in HR, having started out in 1987 with forestry and timber company Weyerhaeuser. After almost 20 years with the company, during which time she became senior HR director, she left to join aluminium company Alcoa as group vice president of human resources. In 2010 she moved to Canadian toy company Spin Master leaving for Heinz the following year. Then in 2012 she joined Tronox as global HR officer leaving after three and half years to become chief executive of Ardasso, a private label supplier to non-profit organisations. She has also taught MBA students at the University of Connecticut for the past five years.

Chief executive Paul McDonnell said: “Sonja will be a critical partner in achieving Maxim Crane’s growth strategy. Her expertise and track record in driving complex change in organisations, combined with her commitment to people and passion for creating a high performance culture, will serve us well as the employer and service provider of choice for the industry.”
Speaking of her appointment Narcisse added: “I am thrilled to join Maxim Crane at such an exciting time in the business. By setting the right culture, investing in our employees, and collaborating with this team of industry experts, we will enhance our organizational effectiveness and drive profitable growth for Maxim.”
