Uperio appoints new US head

French international tower crane company Uperio has appointed Fred Daniels as group executive vice president, he will also assume responsibility for the company’s North American business.
The move follows hot on the heels of the announcement of Uperio’ s acquisition of Arizona based Compass Equipment earlier today. The move extends the company’s North American business to seven locations on both coasts.

Fred Daniels


Daniels will report to chief executive Philippe Cohet, he joins the company from abrasive equipment manufacturer Virginia Abrasives, where he has been chief executive since early 2020. He began his career in 1990 as a sales coordinator at the Hertz Equipment Rentals branch in Baltimore, – now Herc Rentals. Over the next 19 years he moved up through the company to become a regional vice president, based in Virginia. He left the company in 2009 to join Ames Taping Tools as chief executive, leaving for Virginia Abrasives after almost seven years.,

Chief executive Phillipe Cohet said: "I am very pleased that we have been able to attract such an experienced leader in Fred Daniels. Fred brings exactly the skills and knowledge we need to profitably grow our North American business – he is really the perfect match for the position."
Daniels added: "Uperio has a very promising outlook in North America. I am very much looking forward to contributing to its growth in the U.S. market.”
