Leppo Rents acquires Rent Equip
Ohio based sales and rental company Leppo Rents has acquired Rent Equip in Medina, Ohio from owner Jim Brown who plans to retire. The business will now trade as Leppo Rents - Bobcat of Medina.
Leppo Rents was set up by Roy and Stella Leppo in 1945 as a farm equipment dealer in Akron, Ohio and now operates from 12 locations - eight in Ohio, plus two in Florida and two in Alabama. As demand for agricultural equipment declined in the 1970s, Leppo moved into the construction equipment market and set up a rental fleet which became Leppo Rents. Today it offers Bobcat equipment along with JLG lifts, Lull telehandlers and Hydro Mobile mastclimbers and hoists.

Chairman Glenn Leppo, said: “Owner Jim Brown told us that his first purchase was a 743 Bobcat on a Butler trailer from Leppo, and felt it was fitting that we continue their success. Other than a couple of people who have chosen to retire, customers will still see the same familiar faces. We are proud to have been able to bring along the team of a reputable firm with such a long history of serving the equipment needs of contractors in North East Ohio.”
