United confirms new CFO
United Rentals has appointed Ted Grace as chief financial officer. He has been interim chief financial officer since the end of July following the departure of Jessica Graziano for US Steel.
Grace joined United in 2016 as vice president investor relations, having joined the company from building materials supplier Susquehanna International, where he was a research analyst.
He began his career in 1995 as an investment banking analyst with Duff & Phelps in New York. Two years later he moved to Paine Webber as an Oilfield Services & Equipment analyst and the following year joined Bank of America as vice president of investment banking for energy and power. In 2002 he joined Goldman Sachs as an equity analyst for oilfield services and equipment, a role he held for seven years. In 2009 he spent a year with Avondale Partners starting with Susquehanna the following year.

Matthew Flannery, chief executive officer of United Rentals, said: "Following a thorough search process, it became clear that Ted is the right executive to lead our finance team and financial strategies.
