New CFO and non-execs for Vp

UK rental group Vp, owner of telehandler rental company UK Forks, low level access company MEP and general rental business Brandon Hire has announced the retirement of its group finance director Allison Bainbridge, along with her replacement and two non executive appointments.

Allison Bainbridge is retiring at the end of the year


Bainbridge will step down as a director at the end of the year, but will remain with the company until the end of January in order to ensure an orderly transition. Her successor Anna Bielby, 44, will join the company as chief financial officer on January the first.

Bielby qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC where she was a director in its Audit and Consulting teams with a focus on retail. In 2011 after 14 years with the comapny she left to join fashion house Sarah Coggles as financial director. She departed in 2013 having set up her own accounting and consulting business BLB, largely taking on interim chief financial roles with a number of companies, while working with Hull based telecoms company KCOM and most recently the car dealership group Lookers where she was chief financial officer until relatively recently.

The company has also announced the departure of non-executive director Stephen Rogers at the end of the year, after 14 years on the Vp board. The company will add two new non-executive directors at the start of the year - Stuart Watson and Mark Bottomley. Watson will also be appointed as chairman of the Audit Committee, a former senior partner at accounting firm EY, he was also a non-executive director and Audit Committee chairman of Clipper Logistics until recently. Bottomley is chief financial officer at food company Cranswick where he has been a board member since 2009.

Commenting on the changes chairman Jeremy Pilkington said: "Allison has been group finance director and a highly valued member of our board since March 2011.
