UK rental group Vp, owner of telehandler rental company UK Forks, low level access company MEP and general rental business Brandon Hire has announced the retirement of its group finance director Allison Bainbridge, along with her replacement and two non executive appointments.
Bainbridge will step down as a director at the end of the year, but will remain with the company until the end of January in order to ensure an orderly transition. Her successor Anna Bielby, 44, will join the company as chief financial officer on January the first.
Bielby qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC where she was a director in its Audit and Consulting teams with a focus on retail. The company will add two new non-executive directors at the start of the year - Stuart Watson and Mark Bottomley. Watson will also be appointed as chairman of the Audit Committee, a former senior partner at accounting firm EY, he was also a non-executive director and Audit Committee chairman of Clipper Logistics until recently. Bottomley is chief financial officer at food company Cranswick where he has been a board member since 2009.
Commenting on the changes chairman Jeremy Pilkington said: "Allison has been group finance director and a highly valued member of our board since March 2011. I would like to thank her for her very considerable contribution over these 11 years during what has been a period of material and successful growth for the group.”
"Steve has been an exceptional support to the board throughout his long tenure. We will always be grateful for his pragmatic approach to all board matters and particularly in his role as chairman of the Audit Committee.”
"I am also delighted to be welcoming Anna, Stuart and Mark to the Vp board and look forward to enjoying the benefit of their experience in helping the board to guide the future growth and prosperity of the group."
