Platform ejections

Two men were thrown from the platform of a truck mounted lift on Tuesday in Troy, Alabama - south of Montgomery - when it was clipped by a passing articulated truck.

When the police and emergency services arrived on the scene they found two men lying in the roadway. They were taken to hospital, with one of them released later that day, while the other remains in a critical condition.

They had been working on a building at the time but part of the lift was protruding into the lane of passing traffic. From what we have been told neither man was using an attached harness.
