Paul Weiss 1908 - 2006

We have received the sad news that Paul Weiss founder of New York based Cranes Inc has died.

He passed away on Friday June 30th in Boca Raton, Florida, at the age of 98. He leaves behind his wife along with son Larry and grandson Robert.
Paul Weiss joined A. J. McNulty who had set up a construction and steel erecting contractor A.J.McNulty & Co in 1925. The two built the business into a substantial company with Paul taking over the business and eventually buying out his partner. In 1940 he set up Cranes Inc as an offshoot of the construction business, with a small fleet of Link-Belt lattice truck cranes and went on to build it into one of the city’s leading crane rental and rigging contractors. He was joined by his son Larry in the 1970s, and grandson Rob in 1992.
