Another elift for DM

UK crane rental company DM Cranes has taken delivery of a second six axle battery electric powered Spierings SK1265-AT6 eLift mobile self-erecting tower crane.

SK1265-AT6 eLift has a 10 tonne maximum capacity which it can handle at a radius of more than 13 metres. Its 60 metre jib has a 1,700kg jib tip capacity at a 35 metre horizontal jib height. Maximum lift height is 64.2 metres with jib luffed to 30 degrees.

The eLift system allows the crane to plug into a 16 or 32 Amp mains outlet with the power passing through a Lithium-ion battery ‘PowerPack’ which absorbs the peaks in energy draw-down allowing a connection to a regular outlet without affecting performance. When the power draw is low the battery pack is recharged. The crane is also equipped with a small diesel engine which can generate the electrical power when a mains outlet is not available.

The new crane goes to work

DM Cranes runs a fleet of 10 mobile tower cranes, including five six axle SK1265-AT6 from Spierings and a recently added Liebherr MK140. The company plans to add another crane or two later this year.

DM cranes is based in Goole, Yorkshire - halfway between Hull and Leeds - but is now also basing cranes further south in order to offer a nationwide coverage. The company recently hired Anton Sanderson as area manager for the southern England. He joins the company from GM Lifting where he has been an area manager for the past six years. Prior to that he held a similar position with NMT Crane Hire.
