Third 800 tonner for Crane Service

US crane rental company Crane Service Inc has ordered its third Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 wheeled lattice crane at Bauma, with its first one taken in July last year.

The nine axle LG 1800-1.0 is designed for wind turbine installation and builds on the LG1750's design. It can travel with all four outrigger beams at 10 tonne axle loads. While using the same swing-out design as its predecessor, the new crane features fixed rather than variable outrigger beams to reduce weight. Removing two beams reduces overall weight to 70 tonnes - or eight tonnes per axle - while removing all beams brings it down to 50 tonnes.

Features include WindSpeed load charts for working in higher wind conditions, along with multiple boom configurations for the latest generation of wind turbines. The crane will be used for wind turbine construction and maintenance.

Founded in 1960 - Crane service was acquired by ML Holdings in 2007 - based in southwest America, it offers crane rental of All Terrains, Rough Terrains, crawlers, booms and fork lifts. It runs a fleet of more than 80 Liebherr’s from four locations; one in New Mexico and three in Texas.
