Thomas Häßler retires

German access industry veteran Thomas Hässler has retired from the day to day running of company he founded – Halle based Hässler-Lift. He has handed over the reins to managing director Dennis Schröder, 32, who has been a member of the management board since 2016.

Thomas Häßler began working in the access industry in 1989, when he joined Skyjack as a sales representative for East Germany just as reunification was becoming a reality. The following year saw him set up what has always claimed was the first East German company in the aerial work platform rental industry - Hässler-Lift – which began trading on July 1st, 1990, with a Skyjack products only policy.

In 2008 telehandlers and forklifts were added to the company’s product range, and while the exclusive arrangement with Skyjack has gone, Hässler-Lift has maintained a continuous positive relationship with the Canadian manufacturer, as a long standing Skyjack direct dealer in Germany.
Today it is also a member of the Sytem Lift franchise/ alliance, which helps local or regional company operate on the national stage.

Hässler, who will be 62 in May, and said: “I am keen now to devote myself to other projects that are close to my heart. Thanks to the many years of extensive management of the company, Dennis Schröder is very familiar with everything and keen to maintain the same quality and safety standards as well as the positive customer relationships.”

Schröder added: “I appreciate and honour the long standing values of this company and will put my heart and soul into bringing Hässler-Lift to the top.”
