Skyjack micro scissors

Skyjack will unveil two all-new micro scissor lifts at the ARA Show in New Orleans this week - the 13ft SJ3213 micro and 19ft SJ3219 micro - with working heights of 5.9 and 7.7 metres respectively and an overall width of 810mm and an overall length of 1.5 metres. Platform capacity on both is 227kg and a 500mm roll-out deck extension is standard equipment. The 13ft weights 869kg while the 19ft is 1,214kg.

The move follows the introduction of the SJ3013 and SJ3014 in 2021 built for the company by Mantall. The new machines are designed and built in Canada by Skyjack and now include the 19ft unit. A press conference tomorrow morning will fill in all of the details.

Unlike the badged machines which had electric rear wheel drive, the new models feature AC electric front wheel drive motors, and a variable speed brushless hydraulic pump drive motor. The new 13ft unit will replace the SJ3013 in North America, while the slightly narrower SJ3014 will remain available in Europe for the immediate future. Both new models are low enough to drive through a standard doorway with the guardrails up at 1.9 and 1.99 metres respectively.

Options include ECOtray leak containment and bio-degradable hydraulic oil - which can also be added at the first oil change and telematics. The new models are said to be 90 percent recyclable.

A full review and comparison of the new models will be available after the official introduction and in the next issue of the Cranes & Access magazine.
