Dutch maritime transportation company Marcor Stevedoring has taken delivery of a 308 tonne Liebherr LHM 800 mobile harbour crane, with a second one due later this year.
The LHM 800 is fully electric and Liebherr’s largest mobile harbour crane. It can handle its maximum 308 tonne capacity at a radius of 16 metres and up to 57.9 tonnes at a radius of 64 metres.

Danny Swart of Stevedoring said: “With the LHM 800, we have gained a competitive edge in the dry bulk market. It is a versatile and powerful machine that can handle any type of cargo, from ore to grains and fertilisers. It also reduces our fuel consumption and emissions, which is in line with our sustainability goals.”
It will work from the 600 metre quay at Marcor’s Hartel Terminal, handling dry bulk commodities including biomass, fertiliser and mineral bulk cargo. The crane is part of a programme to boost the terminal's throughput and efficiency, aiming to achieve an annual capacity of 10 million tonnes by 2025.
Cor Breekweg established Rotterdam based Marcor, in 1997, naming it by merging his own first name with that of his wife, Mary. The company's operations initially centred around a barge mounted crane and weighing tower, primarily focused on handling grains, oilseeds, and related products for the food and feed industry. It is now owned by the C.Steinweg Group and employs 5,500 individuals running a fleet of four barge mounted cranes and two weighing towers providing logistical solutions in over 50 countries from 115 location globally.
