Manitowoc has appointed Jörn Henselmans as general manager of the Grove All Terrain crane plant in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and executive vice president for all Grove mobile cranes.
In his new role he is responsible for all operations at the plant along with related product development and sales.
Henselmans is a local man having grown up in nearby Jever, and has spent most of his career with Manitowoc, joining the company in 2013. He was previously senior director of quality and manufacturing at the Wilhelmshaven plant.
Henselmans said: “I have ‘cranes in my blood’ and my goal is to optimise the plant for the future. The team in Wilhelmshaven has great expertise and passion in developing and manufacturing the best All Terrain cranes in the world. In my new position, I will exploit this potential and, with my presence in the factory, focus more on direct exchange with our customers.”
Les Middleton, vice president Americas and EU for mobile cranes added: “With the appointment of Jörn as vice president and general manager, we are ensuring that our customers, our partners, and our employees will gain an accomplished leader. Jörn brings with him an extensive knowledge of our All Terrain product line, manufacturing expertise as well as related processes, combined with close relationships to Manitowoc teams.
