Chinese aerial lift and telehandler manufacturer Sinoboom’ has appointed Alistair Palacioglu as business development director for the Middle East. He will officially join the company at the start of July, following 18 months with JCB Access.
Overseas sales director Dawei He said: “I am delighted that Alistair can join us and bring his unrivalled experience to this post. Alistair will head up our rapidly growing team of support and sales staff in the UAE and wider region.”
Palacioglu added: “I am excited by the modern designs and high quality of the extensive Sinoboom range, particularly the large booms that are vital in this region.”
Palacioglu began his career in the UK as an intern with Thames Water for most of 2006. He then landed a job with Barclays Bank as a client support specialist, leaving after a year and half for a sales role with Lombard. In 2009 he moved to US cleanroom contamination monitoring systems manufacturer Lighthouse, as sales and distribution manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. After three years in the job, he joined US based Bigge Crane & Rigging in a similar role, based in Abu Dhabi.
He moved to JLG in 2014, initially as regional sales manager for Turkey and the Caspian region, his territory was expanded after two years to include the Eastern Mediterranean region. In 2018 he left the company for Turkish aerial lift manufacturer ELS where he looked after its export efforts with a promotion to business development and European region sales manager along the way. He left for JCB at the end of 2022.
